The question in notebook computers has become, “Does size really matter or is it more important to have a powerful workhorse computer that allows you to fit all your software and save as many files as possible on your computer?” Another point here may be whether the smaller dimensions are more valuable or if the light-weight portability is the chief issue. I think the availability of different types of laptops today lets us truly personalize our productivity machines into something that works for us all and doesn’t have to be run of the mill for the world.

The announcement of the brand new macbookair by Apple has really given us options with the size and weight and what kind of computer we carry around with us when traveling. At less than 3 pounds and wafer thin, we don’t have to get a workout every time we walk to school. It has a 13 inch wide-screen and a full-size keyboard. Tell me where I can get it today! This is the very feature I have been wanting.

When I first saw the advert for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to transport portable computer coming out of that manila envelope, I was just in awe. Now, that’s what I’ve been looking for. Now it doesn’t have to be a major accomplishment to take my portable computer with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh likely as much as the computer, no more grimacing, no longer taking up more room than my suitcase! What a happy day!

The never ending question of whether size is important is here now and my answer, when it comes to a small portable notebook computer is a reverberating, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter as well as weight. For me and my mobile computer smaller is by far and away better.
